I went to see Peter Williams last night, our latest member. Peter was the first to spot 53 in the 50s and he kindly told me the story of the original attempt to restore 53 and how John the farmer got involved. It is too long to relate the whole tale here, but Peter gave me a lot of new information on 53 and the trams and has some superb pictures of Brighton trams I have not seen before.He also kindly gave me a whole folder of correspondence and press cuttings from the 70s and 80s relating to the above.
