24th of Feb, part two!
I have just spoken to Allan Marriott and we made £77.47 today, which brings our total for Model world to £311.44, a brilliant sum, well done to those who helped make this happen!
Model world 2013
First two days were fairly busy, there were a lot of people around, but they were not impulse buying! Various people visited us, including Brian Carter, Peter Williams and Ian Gledhill, as well as the dynamic duo from the Hastings tram group, Roy and Derek. It was also nice to see Medway Queen member, John Kempton. Takings for the two days were £233.77, not bad at all. Let us see what the team today do!

Another official work party date, which found just Alan and myself, then just myself at 53. It was glorious weather after the mist cleared up, so where were you all? John the farmer then turned up and we put the truck partly back together,John showed great skill with a tractor and the heavy parts of the truck and Darren appeared on site at a crucial moment. You will see from the pictures that we have started on enclosing the roof, we could have done a lot more with help. John the farmer asked where was the work party and I had no answer, a very bad day for P.R. with him, he did his bit and more!

Next purchasing items are for the shed, it is time to get this rolling. Please note Lewes bus Rally is the 9th of June, not the 8th. Have just had the application form for Tinkers Park Rail show for the 3rd and 4th of August.

Despite the weather, we had a lot of interest at the second Engineerium show and a record promise of new members. The photos will show the new stand and displays, and the DVD kept a lot of people there! We made a respectable £63.95, many thanks To Tony Belcher and Malcolm Malins for the donations of books and models. I think one of the best shows for public interest in our tram, thank you to Brian , John, Paul and Harry for manning the roadshow!

We have had an extremely grand offer from Volk's Railway, a free advertising window in their office on the seafront! The building is a former tram shelter from Victoria gardens I believe, a most fitting place for 53 info and publicity! If anyone can help, please contact the society who will be on the case asap, thank you Volks. I will be out to look at the truck today, along with others at about 4pm, will take the Kodak.

First work party today in less then kind weather, but only two turned up. At this rate 53 will be finished at the end of the century, we will need more folks out there then this please. Allan and I measured, cut and tried to work out the size of the stair case and sliding door in the cab ends. Allan has planned the shed up grade, but we need materials and volunteers, we would like to keep our hard won funds for 53, can you help? Next show is next Sunday at the Brighton and Hove Engineerium, then Model world. We have quite a few shows through out the year, so if you can man the stand, please let me know, we are ok at the moment.Had a special delivery Friday, Gordon Dinnage has done us proud with a new metal banner stand, will play with and paint, thank you Gordon. The van bodies turned out to be a complete waste of time, they both fell to bits when lifted, so back to the drawing board or internet!
