June 29th.
Went over to see Roger and Sheila Sharman today, who have organised various things for 53. I was given a big bag of the new mugs, borrowed their tent for the shows and discussed lots! Roger will be doing the welding on the steels, assisted to a degree by me and will be helping at the shows. Other possibilities were discussed, which for the moment we will keep quiet. I also collected another banner for the shows which says what we are doing, all good stuff!Roger and i then went out to 53 for a tidy up and some work, see pictures.
Off to Shoreham Harbour next week to collect some track plans of extensions to the system not built, more on this later. We still need a few more volunteers for thew shows, can you help?

23rd of June.
Not a lot to report this week, still no response from the HM Charities, so I have written another complaint letter. We still need a few more bodies for the July and August shows and also tables. We have a tent, but need something to put our wares and exhibits on, can anyone help? Contact is e-mail tram53project@yahoo.com, I thank you.
Was also reading an ancient copy of Modern tramway, who stated that the Seaton tramway, which when it was originally at Eastbourne, actually had old Brighton Tram standards for it's overhead! Is this true and did they migrate to Devon? If you have details, please let me know!

Allan gave me a report on 53's steels and there will need to be some welding. We also need to make sure all areas are accessible, the metal under the bulkheads might be messy! Our works supremo also wants the metal off the other side, so we can asses that. This will be down to people turning up for work days, your choice. Two of us is not enough.I have lodged a complaint against the Charities commission and have e-mailed my local M.P about our shoddy treatment, let lose the anoraks of war. We still need people to help out at shows AND any tables please for the display, contact El Presidente at tram53project@yahoo.com please.

15th of June.
Out at 53 for visitors and some work, Chris Rails and John Hayward turned up to help/admire 53.John Zeberdee and Martin Brown turned up as as well and finally our resident truck expert, Darren. We got some more wood off 53 and I removed a large coach bolt in the framing so we can get the correct new ones and John Hayward enjoyed himself attacking other bits, see photos. The lower wood was removed off the steel main frames revealing some corrosion, but nothing too bad, see photos. A very windy day.The wooden framing put up for the extension has suffered, that is why we need to do work sooner rather then later.

Lewes Bus rally, 9th of June.
Not a great weather day, we made £43 at the bus rally, but with pen sales of late we are banking £82.50 tomorrow, so money is coming back in. Next Saturday is a work day at 53, gonna come?

6th of June.
Still no reply from the HM Charities , what a joke, I do wonder how things do get done there, we have seen no evidence! I will just keep ringing. On a brighter note, we are at the Lewes Bus rally Sunday the 9th of June, do come and see a great collection of buses and the 53 roadshow!

1st of June.
I arrived to find two members on site already, such abundance! Malcolm and Brian were hard at work and removed the rest of the sheet metal on one side to reveal more wood, some good, some not so good. I cut off more bolts with the grinder and then rust proofed and painted. It is amazing that one of these gents drove from Hampshire and the other is diabetic and has survived a heart attack, they put the rest of you to shame. I have probably attended 97% of the work parties over three years and a have a job, so think about it,a few more on the case and much bigger results. I also spent an hour yesterday photographing and measuring the fittings given to us recently, hero,no, just prepared to do something.
